Kichaa Sudeep is all set to star in the sequel of Kotigobba, which starred late matinee idol Dr. Vishnuvardhan. The second part is expected to take off by this year end.
A leading tabloid has reported that director Suresh Krishna has penned a fresh story for the sequel of Kotigobba, which was a remake of Tamil blockbuster Basha. Soorappa Babu, who had produced the first instalment, has claimed that he has been thinking about the second part since a few years and now it is getting materialized.
The producer said that he would have made the second part with the Kannada superstar if he was alive. On choosing Sudeep for the character played by the late actor, Babu believes that Kicha is the new Vishnuvardhan.
Similarly, Vishnuvardhan's Aapthamitra, which was a remake of Malayalam film Manichitrathazu, had a sequel titled Aaptharakshaka. It is noted that the second instalment was not a remake and it was remade in Telugu.
Off the record:
Rajinikanth starrer Basha directed by Suresh Krishna was inspired by Bollywood movie Hum.
