After almost a year, Vadivelu is all set finally to re-enter Kollywood. This will be in the sequel to Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi, a comic caper which released in 2006 in which he played the protagonist. The film will be directed by filmmaker Simbhudevan, who did the original.
It was commonly believed that many producers were wary of casting the actor in their films, not wanting to earn the ire of the State government. His last film appearance was in Prashanth’s Mambattiyan.“The producers have not been finalised yet, and the film will go on the floors after that process is complete”. The actor campaigned for the DMK-led alliance in the 2011 Assembly elections, and relocated to Madurai after the party came a cropper in the elections.
