Mallika Sherawat – Cannes is special this time

Actress Mallika Sherawat isn’t new to Cannes. This is the fourth time the actress has been invited to the prestigious film festival. Is there any novelty left after visiting the French Riveria‘s cinema capital for so many years? “Each time is different! I can’t tell you how excited I am to attend Cannes. It’s special this time around,” she says.
The reason? Mallika Sherawat has been invited by AmfARThe American Foundation for AIDS Research – a NGO dedicated to the support of AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment, education and advocacy.
“It means a lot to me because my best friend has been living with HIV for the last 20 years. I’ve been following the work that AmfAR is doing and it’s really commendable. It will be great to attend the event and learn about new discoveries in the battle against this condition,” says Mallika Sherawat.
However, it’s not all work but also fun for Mallika Sherawat at the festival. “It’s a great chance to meet filmmakers from all around the world. Also, this year there’s so much Indian representation, with films like “Peddler” and “Miss Lovely” that will be screened. I am looking forward to watching some great movies.”
At Cannes, Mallika Sherawat will be wearing diamonds by leading french jeweller Boucheron and gowns by Christian Dior and Dolce Gabbana.
