Vinay is one happy man. For, a few scenes from his forthcoming film ‘Mirattal‘ was shot inside the residence of late ‘Nadigar Thilakam‘ Sivaji Ganesan, one of the legendary actors of Tamil cinema.“It is a privilege and gift that we were able to shoot inside Sivaji sir’s house. Director Madhesh managed to get permission and some important scenes were canned inside Annai Illam. I had goose bumps when I stood in front of the camera there,” he says.
The director is of the hope that ‘Mirattal‘ will change the ‘chocolate boy’ image of Vimal. “The crux of the story is that any big problem can be solved in simple and straight forward ways. There is no need to get tensed.”
Madesh, a former associate of Shankar, says the combo of Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu will tickle the funny bone of the audience. “Praveen Mani has composed interesting songs keeping the young in mind,” he adds.Madhesh impressed by heroine Sharmila’s professional commitment
Madhesh, the director who made Vijaykanth’s landmark 150th film in Arasangam and the Vijay-starrer Madurey, is back in action. After a brief hiatus, Madhesh is back with his upcoming film titled Mirattal. The film stars Vinay Rai (remember him in Jayamkondan?) and debutant Sharmila in lead roles and is billed as an action-packed family entertainer.
Mumbai-based Sharmila approached Madhesh more than two years back. She looked rather plump and Madhesh reportedly ‘advised’ her to slim down and come back in a ‘silm avatar’. Two years went by and when Madhesh thought that he had seen the last of Sharmila, all of a sudden she descended in Chennai and came to Madhesh who was hugely impressed by her toned looks.
“I wanted to cast her but felt she had to shed some kilos of weight. I advised her to go for weight reduction and even recommended a few exercises. I was really surprised to see her again afte two years. She now possesses a slim frame, which is the basic necessity for all of today’s heroines. I immediately decided to cast her in Mirattal opposite Vinay.
“The film has a mix of action and comedy. Even when I was penning the script, I had decided that Vinay would be the appropriate choice to play the lead role in the film,” says Madhesh even as his film gears up for its theatrical release. The film has been shot in many hitherto unseen locations including the Palace of Westminster in London which houses the Parliament of England.
Some sequences have also been shot inside the late and legendary Sivaji Ganesan’s T. Nagar residence in Chennai
