Yet Shruti Hassan wasn’t able to create a great impact in Andhra Pradesh among Tollywood audience who are known ardent film patrons.However, Lady Luck has smiled big at the pretty damsel this time around with fans going gaga over her characterization in latest ‘Gabbar Singh‘. Looking irresistibly fresh in traditional costumes, she doesn’t have many dialogues to deliver but has more to emote through eyes and a number of duets to be seen in.
Fans have received her character in this film with open arms. ‘Gabbar Singh‘ released today (May 11).
And what’s interesting is that the actress has managed to create a good impact despite the movie being a Pawan Kalyan film with him hogging away the limelight.
For those of you who don’t know, ‘Gabbar Singh‘ is a remake of ‘Osthi‘, which by itself is a remake of Bollywood blockbuster ‘Dabangg‘. ‘Gabbar Singh‘ has been opened to positive reviews and has the right elements to make a commercial blockbuster.
Whether the actress will be able to deliver her first mass commercial super hit in Telugu, we’ll have to wait to know….

Gabbar Singh got a tremendous response for premiere shows in entire USA and in other countries. Multiple shows sold out in several big locations in US like Bay Area, New Jersey, Dallas, VA, Chicago and created new records in some places like Minneapolis, Kansas City, Sacramento etc.Mouth talk is very strong and everyone is enjoying the movie with rib tickling comedy. Anthakshari with villain’s gang in 2nd half is a laughing gas and good enough to bring people back into theaters! People were standing and dancing in theaters in some of the locations!!

In an industry that has too harbours too many omens, Shruti Hassan unsurprisingly earned the tag of ‘Iron Leg‘ (a patronising term used for those who fail the films they act in) too early in her career. However, after May 11, that is going to be a thing of yesterday. For, she seems to have struck Box Office gold with Gabbar Singh, arguably the year’s most-awaited film since Businessman.Looking irresistibly fresh and hale, she looks pretty in traditional costumes in the film. She doesn’t get to speak much. But she uses the space given to her by emoting through eyes and, more importantly, in splendid duets shot in the backdrop of picturesque Swiss locales.
The actress was well aware of the challenge. She has always said that Gabbar Singh is her most important role. She did her homework well. Though the film is essentially a Pawan film, leaving little space for others, Shruthi did make her mark.
