Despite the fact that his latest release Shanghai may not have done wonders at the box office, Emraan Hashmi is so impressed by Dibakar Banerjee, the director of the film that he can do anything for him. Emraan says that he is even open to the idea of doing an item number in a film, provided it is offered to him by a director like Dibakar Banerjee.
Emraan said, “The conventional item numbers are very boring. I don’t like the way they are presented. I will do something different.”
Emraan is so impressed by the director because despite the film not doing all that well at the box office, the slightly offbeat and light-hearted role he did in Shanghai is being appreciated by the people. Emraan feels that Dibakar Banerjee has opened new doors for him with this film.
Emraan says that in a career in Bollywood expanding up to around eight years, he has not heard too many words of appreciation as he has heard for his role in Shanghai. He will love to do such roles in the future as well.
Though some of the earlier films in his acting career did not work at the box office, Emraan was able to sustain himself in the industry purely by taking a different approach. In an era when bigger stars like Aamir Khan and Salman Khan are open to it, even Emraan wants to take a plunge into the world of item songs. Hopefully Dibakar Banerjee or any other director will give him a chance and with his different approach, Emraan will do complete justice to item number.
Emraan Hashmi is a very talented artist. He keeps on delivering impressive performances and hardly repeats himself. For the past few years he was mostly doing Bhatt camp movies but later on he ventured out of Bhatt camp and doing movies of other banners too. Emraan Hashmi’s worst critics even can’t criticize on his acting front.
