Not because nothing he’s called the ‘Shah Rukhkhan’ of Kollywood. Actor ‘Jayam’ Ravi has this uncanny knack of slipping into and out of his roles with effortless ease, much like the ‘King’ Khan of Bollywood. Be it the role of a chocolate-faced romantic hero or that of an action-oriented role, ‘Jayam’ Ravi is always up to it.
The actor, who got married some time back, still has his female fans base intact which was proven by the success of his only film which released last year in the form of Engeyum Kaadhal opposite debutant Hansika Motwani. Though most of his films were remakes of popular Telugu hit films and directed by his elder brother and director ‘Jayam’ Raja, ‘Jayam’ Ravi has proved his vast acting potential in films like Jananathan’s Peraanmai.
He is presently working in Aadhibagawan directed by Ameer in which he has been paired opposite hottie Neetu Chandra. The film has been in the making for more than two years and required ‘Jayam’ Ravi to grow long beard and hair, an appearance from which he had to ‘release’ himself to enable him to star in Prabhu deva’s Engeyum Kaadhal.
Ravi has gone on record stating that among all his heroines, he thought he looked best opposite Genelia, who got married recently to beau and Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh. Ravi and Genelia have starred in the solitary film Santosh Subramaniyam which was a super-duper hit. Unlike his contemporaries, Ravi has gone ahead and expressed another wish.
“I sure would love to pair up opposite Anushka. Though my favourit has always been Genelia, I think Anushka’s acting prowess and her height would match with me perfectly. This is what has made me think about acting along side her in at lease one film,” Ravi has said. Any film-makers listening?
