The makers of the 3D film Ambuli are so happy with the film’s box-office returns that they are said to be contemplating releasing the film all over the State in 2-dimensional (normal) mode as well. KTVR Creative Reels, which produced the film, released the 3D version in theatres on 17th February. The film, which is nearing its 100-day mark soon, is said to be doing exceedingly well.
Buoyed by the response to the film in Tamil Nadu, KTVR is reportedly toying with the idea of releasing the film in neighbouring States of Andhra Pradesh and Kerala as well. “More than the 3-D attraction, it’s the script which has become a huge hit with the children and the masses and has brought them to the theatres repeatedly. Therefore, we have decided to release the film in 2D (normal) format as well.
“Following popular demand and representations made us and in view of the ensuing summer vacation for children and students, it has been decided to release Ambuli in 2-D format (usual version) in many screens all over Tamil Nadu. Theatres which couldn’t get the 3D version have asked us to make available to them at least the 2-D version of the film so that they can hope to cash in on the film’s popularity.“We earnestly hope that the members of the public would continue to patronize the film in the 2-D format as well,” said Loganathan of KTVR.
