Shahrukh Khan Pleads Guilty To Smoking, Ready To Pay Fine

Shahrukh Khan has pleaded guilty to smoking publicly at Sawai Maan Singh Stadium, Jaipur and is ready to pay the fine. Shahrukh Khan was smoking during an IPL match between KKR and Rajasthan Royals. Shahrukh Khan co-owns KKR team.
Shahrukh Khan was represented by an army of lawyers. He also sought exemption from personal appearance in the court. He also apologized by writing a confessional letter to the court. Court will hear the appeal of Shahrukh Khan on June, 21.
Fans were gathered in the court to get a glimpse of Shahrukh Khan. But they were disappointed as the star didn’t appear in the court but has sent his group of lawyers to represent him.
Complainant, Anand Singh Rathore’s lawyer, Nem Singh told media, “Khan’s lawyers filed an application in the court under Sections 206, 253 and 262 of CrPC. They said that their client was pleading guilty to the charges and would pay the stipulated fine under the Rajasthan Prohibition of Smoking and Non Smokers’ Health Protection Act, 2000.” A person guilty under this law can be given a sentence of six months or a fine of Rs 200.
As Shahrukh Khan’s layers are terming Shahrukh Khan’s offense as a petty one and seeking exemptions from court appearances for him. Rathore’s layers said, “We objected to this request. The court will hear arguments on this on June 21.”
Shahrukh Khan was represented by Sonali Jaitley, senior lawyer Vivek Raj Singh Bajwa and Jaiyesh Bakshi.
Anand Singh Rathore has registered a complaint against Shahrukh Khan for smoking publicly, as he thinks that Khan was idolized by thousands and smoking publicly will not go down well with youngsters.
A constable from Rajasthan police came to Mumbai to issue summons to Shahrukh Khan. He was not present at his house Mannat at that time. So the constable had given summon to his family member
