Director Rudhran, who is a former associate of Vikram Kumar of ‘Yavarum Nalam‘ fame, has started a film titled ‘Vetri Selvan‘, with Ajmal in the lead. He says he actually penned the story having Vijay in the mind.“However, due to some reasons, Vijay is not part of the movie. The film is about three individuals (Ajmal, Mano and Sherrif) who bring about a change in the society. How they are able to make it is the crux of the story,” Rudhran says.
Ramesh Kumar, who made a big mark with ‘Oomai Vizhigal‘, is the cinematographer of the movie, the director says and adds: “Radhika Apte plays the heroine. Music is by Mani Sharma and lyrics by Madhan Karky.”
Stating that he initially named the movie ‘Ranam‘, Rudhran says he then changed it to ‘Sathyavan‘. “However, I felt the need to give a positive title to the film and then I changed it as Vetri Selvan, a name symbolizing victory.”
