I’m not afraid of competition – Asin

Actress Asin has gone on record stating that she feels least perturbed by the competition she might have to face from the onslaught of well-established actress from South who want to make it big in Bollywood.  Despite their huge stature in Tamil and Telugu films, Southern actresses have always wanted to establish themselves in Hindi films.
Chatting casually at a recent event, Asin said that “It was really funny to read in some newspapers that I have been ‘angered’ by the entry of many actresses from down South who want to make a name for themselves in Bollywood.  Hindi films are very vast and everybody has a right to try out his or her luck here. Who am I to feel sad or angry about it?  Do I control the entire Bollywood film industry?
“Nothing and nobody can stop a talented actress from reaching the top; talent alone takes you places here and no ‘godfather’ or anything else would be of much help.  Sheer talent helps one achieve success and sustain it,” said Asin.
The reporter was apparently referring to the entry of actress like Kajal Agarwal and Tapasee Pannu who were trying their best to make inroads in Bollywood.
Asin replied in the negative whether she would be taking on the kind of role done by Vidya Balan in The Dirrty Picture and added that she was yet to prepare herself to take on such ‘heavy’ roles.  She also said that though she was getting many offers in Tamil and Telugu, she wasn’t taking them up as she need to prove herself more in Bollywood first.
