Films and film-makers never fail to bring into their scripts the current events and issues which attract the attention of the society in general. Following this trend, comedian Vivek has reportedly made a reference to the on-going dispute betweens comedians Vadivelu and Singamuthu in his upcoming film titled Kandha.
Readers might be aware of the many allegations and counter-allegations made in the past by Vadivelu and Singamuthu against each other. While the former accused the latter of cheating him to the tune of crores in ‘land matters’, the latter had flatly denied the charges and said that whatever happened between them, occurred with the full knowledge and consent of the former.
Kandha has Karan in the lead and has been directed by Babu K. Viswanath. The film, which was to have been released a couple of months ago, got delayed for various reasons and is hitting the screens next week. When queried as to what was his intention in referring to the dispute in real life between fellow comedians, he said that it was true that he had referred to the ‘real estate’ issue in the comedy track.
“The track was shot long before the Vadivelu-Singamuthu dispute erupted. As such, I’m not making any direct references to any of them. In fact, I had already spoken to Vadivelu and explained to him as to what makes up the track,” said Vivek.
