Subhsh Ghai Feels Cheated

Subhash Ghai says he feels cheated by Maharashtra government. In his first reaction to the Supreme Court verdict asking him to return the land given to him to build a film institute, Subhash Ghai has said that he feels cheated by the Maharashtra government.
The producer-director, who has to now return the land allotted to him by the Maharashtra government said, “Informing me that the land given to me for the institute is not valid, 10 years after the deal was first struck was not a good idea on the part of Maharashtra government.”
He said that the whole problem has occurred because certain officers in the state government are not happy with him and his success and feel that the state government gave him the land at a very low price. He added, “They gave the agreement to us signed by the then MD, cultural secretary and minister of culture to have a partnership in Whistling Woods Ltd with share equity and we invested Rs.20 crore to begin with. Now they are going back on it.”
The fact remains that the ruling by the Supreme Court asking him to return the land till 2014 has hurt Subhash Ghai badly. Now, the film maker is only trying to find excuses and shift the blame.
