Shruti Hassan was the choice to play the female lead in this film after the immense success of Pawan Kalyan starrer Gababr Singh in which she played the female lead. She is currently working on Balupu which has Ravi Teja as her lead pair and will begin concentrating in Kandireega 2 once she completes her commitments on hands.
